Dan Allam was a contestant on the reality show "Winter Wipeout" and now has a job as a magician. He doesn’t particularly like Brussels sprouts though. After Christmas he decided to not eat all of his food and put up five Brussels sprouts for sale on eBay. That’s right, anyone can list Brussels sprouts on eBay . On Sunday night, the Metro newspaper declared there are bids for the used food and people are interested in purchasing the leftovers.
They come from a pet and smoke present home, so don't expect them to smell nice, they're sprouts after all. The winning bidder will be given the option to have the sprouts washed prior to them being posted (yes, I intend on posting them) but this is entirely at the buyers discretion.
The eBay ad really does offer the five sprouts and it’s quite charming how Dan Allam wrote the description of the food. With over 30 bids, this leftover meal is getting plenty of attention and there are still a few days left before it ends. According to the Mirror, it was all started as a joke, but thousands of fans are intensely interested in this auction.
The reality star appears to be wanting to share a little magic for the Make-A-Wish foundation as the auction on eBay will have the proceeds go to the charity who helps make dreams come true.
The real question has to be – who buys used Brussels sprouts? Already on someone’s plate and pushed to the side because they taste less than charming, it doesn’t seem like the best idea. Then again with all the smiles the children have on trips taken thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation, it seems worth it.
