Columbus Short, formerly of the television series "Scandal," just can't seem to keep the real life scandal to a minimum. He was let go from the hit series due to issues in his personal life and apparently that wasn't enough to calm him down and set Short straight. On Wednesday, TMZ reports that Columbus Short allegedly violated a restraining order and trashed the family home while his estranged wife and daughter were away for Easter.
Tanee McCall claims that while she was away for the holiday, Short came in and made a huge mess. According to the report, while Short was in the home he literally ripped a door from the hinges. He also allegedly stripped Tanee's sheets off the bed and left all the lights on when he left.
This news comes after other reports that Tanee McCall had a restraining order put in place due to death threats she says he made against her while holding a knife to her throat. She also says he is fighting the restraining order and claims he can come and go from the home since his name is still on the lease. Apparently he doesn't know that a restraining order will override a lease every day of the week.
Despite the domestic violence charges, the loss of his role on "Scandal" and a restraining order, Columbus Short just doesn't seem to get it. When asked in a recent NewsOne interview about the domestic violence accusations he responded, “I don’t mean to laugh but it read outlandish and it sounds even more outlandish coming out of your mouth.” Yes Columbus, it does sound outlandish. That doesn't make it okay to keep on showing up though.
The actor has been served divorce papers previously and Tanee McCall has filed yet another complained after the trashing of her home. It's unclear just how much further this will go before Short calms down or if he is going to land himself in jail with a much longer sentence.
