Real Madrid and Barcelona legends to play at Marlins Park

Barcelona and Real Madrid have some tremendous followings throughout the world and Miami will get a chance to enjoy this heated rivalry. According to 90 Minutes Strong, there will be a Clásico held in South Florida.

The match will be held at Marlins Park on September 11 according to the aforementioned site. The match will not have Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and the other protagonists that have been instrumental in the past few editions of this heated rivalry.

"We are excited to reach an agreement that brings these two soccer powers to Miami," said Claude Delorme, Marlins Executive Vice President of Operations and Events. "Even though rosters have yet to be finalized, these two clubs have a rich history of soccer greats that will lead to a highly-competitive match."

Real Madrid CF, Legends Squad and the F.C. Barcelona Legends are obviously two of the most popular sides in the veterans circuit and the rosters will be named in the coming weeks.

"The mere mention of these two teams sparks the emotions of this iconic rivalry," said Michael Saks, Manager Partner of GroupNV, which along with Global Gateway Business Services, LLC will manage all facets of the event in the city of Miami.

The veterans circuit is extremely successful in Europe as several of the big clubs have these teams and have delighted audiences through Europe and even in the Middle East. Madrid has seen players like Zinedine Zidane, Fernando Redondo, Ruud Van Nistlerooy, Michel Salgado, Luis Figo amongst other don the white strip. Meanwhile Barcelona have been represented by players like Gaizka Mendieta, Rivaldo, Deco, Ludovic Giuly and Miguel Ángel Nadal.

The organization is still finalizing specifics of things such as ticket prices and; further announcements will follow regarding on-sale date. The event website, worldsoccerlegends.com, will soon be up and running and will have all the pertinent information the event.
