‘Real Housewives’ star Jacqueline Laurita feels her son could outgrow autism?

Jacqueline Laurita is currently filming the fifth season of the show, even though she was emotionally drained from the fourth season thanks to her former friend Teresa Giudice. As the season ended, she announced that she and husband Chris had been keeping her son’s autism diagnosis a secret and now she is filming the newest season of the show to promote awareness. Now, according to a new Babble report released on Jan. 20, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jacqueline Laurita is opening up about the recent report that children can outgrow autism.

After learning of this new report that children can outgrow autism with age, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jacqueline Laurita is opening up about how she hopes this will happen for her son, Nicholas. “Right now, one of our greatest [challenges] happens to be helping Nicholas recover from autism – because I believe it’s possible,” she reveals according to the report. “Maybe not all children will recover, but many have, and all of us parents with a child on the spectrum should be given that hope.”

Of course, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jacqueline Laurita revealed that her son was suffering from autism after coming to terms with the diagnosis. They had known for months and dealing with this issue privately before making it public. “[W]e feel strongly that autism is not a shameful secret,” she explains. “…We are not ashamed of him or the diagnosis. We don’t ever want him to feel ashamed either.”
