Tonight's season finale episode of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" was titled "Salon, Farewell." As the episode opens, the entire season is encapsulated into the love/hate relationship the cast had with Teresa Giudice. As the episode proceeds, it is still unsure if she was involved in the rumors about her brother and sister-in-law, Melissa and Joe Gorga.
At the start, Joe Gorga tells the fans that he believes Penny, the rumormonger. He knows she has nothing to gain by spreading the rumors about them. Caroline knows that the common denominator happens to be Kim D. who always seems to be at the bottom of all the happenings.
Joe confronted Penny’s husband Johnny and questioned his motive in Tweeting this information in order to destroy them. Now all the fingers are pointing to Teresa, but Caroline knows that Kim D. is the one who brought Teresa to the salon. Teresa still wonders how it all came back on her.
Joe and Melissa are so upset that this happened after they have tried to fix the family. Joe is upset because Teresa denied that she was behind the rumors. Chris and Jacqueline were discussing the situation, and Chris knows that if Teresa comes to Joe and apologizes, she will be forgiven.
When Kathy and Richie spoke to the Gorgas, he knew that the family has to stay together; especially because Joe’s court date is coming, and Teresa will need her family if Joe goes to jail.
As Caroline walks through her home, she sees how much her family has grown since they moved there. Her children are adults now, and her life is great. When Albert comes into the room, she is looking at pictures and knows in her heart, that although they have the apartment in Hoboken, this is where they belong. Albert reminds her that wherever she wants is fine with him.
While talking to Jacqueline, Teresa does say how she was involved in the scandal. When she agreed with those people when they said things about the Gorgas, she was in agreement because at the time, they were not getting along.
At an event for “blk.” office, the gang is in attendance for the tasting of the new flavors. Teresa took Joe aside and told him how the situation occurred. They were not getting along and while others were talking about the Gorgas, she did not try to stop the rumors, and apologized to her brother whom she did not put them up to do these nasty things. In the end, the two were crying and hugging and their love for each other was apparent.
Down the shore at the Giudice’s house, they get together to celebrate the reconstruction after Hurricane Sandy. Kathy is happy to see more love and less war. She has decided that she needs a new kitchen, and they will be going ahead with plans to build their dream home soon. She will be taking the lead in the designs, while Rich will stay out of the way.
Jacqueline is happy that Ashley is back in New Jersey and plans to attend beauty school in Los Angeles later this year. The family continues to focus on Nicholas’ recovery, and Jacqueline is amazed at his progress.
Caroline compared the family situation to Hurricane Sandy, and now they are in the process of rebuilding after a perfect storm. They decided to forget about the Hoboken apartment and are back home with Lauren, Frannie and a rotating cast of her animals.
Melissa is happy that they have a newfound respect for each other. She is trusting and wants it to stay that way. The Gorgas have sold their mansion for $3.8 million, and their new home is just a half-hour away from the Giudices. The plan to have the entire family over for Sunday dinner … someday.
Joe and Teresa plan to get through whatever roadblocks come along. They are madly in love and know that family is the most important part of life.
The announcement made by Matt Lauer on the Today Show, brought up the 39-count indictment against the couple. Teresa and Joe entered a plea of “not guilty.” If convicted, they both could face jail time, and Joe may be deported. Joe is still awaiting trial for his 2011-DMV-related arrest. Teresa is just happy that the family is getting along, and she continues to love, love, love.
