“The Real Housewives of Miami” was an attempt for Bravo to start a new successful franchise a few years ago. And with the success of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Bravo may have thought that going to Miami would have been a good choice. However, the first season fell flat and the reunion was filmed live, which proved to be a big mistake on the part of the producers. However, the producers decided to push forth with a second season by changing a majority of the cast and adding more drama. And it proved to be more successful than the first season. And now, according to a new Gather report released on Feb. 28, “The Real Housewives of Miami” has been renewed for a third season given the success of the second season.
Lea Black, one of a few returning housewives from season one, dished the details on the upcoming third season. "They announced a third season, so I heard (wink)," Lea revealed in a recent interview. "And I wish I was the casting agent - have a few ideas! Ha. But that's way above my pay grade. Stay tuned." Since Lea is under contract with Bravo, she can’t dish the details on who will be returning, but given the success of the second season, it wouldn’t be surprising if everyone returns.
And Lea is known for sharing her annual Gala on the show, but she doesn’t know whether Bravo will be interested this year. “Well. I'm not the producer, so it's not my decision, but I won't be surprised if they do." It is possible that the season will start filming within the next few months. Are you surprised that Bravo are going on with a third season?
