'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 4: Joyce Giraud, Brandi Glanville feud

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 cast member Joyce Giraud sat down for a chat with People TV recently for their Up Close segment. In the interview, shot confessional-style, Joyce shared everything from whether or not she watched the show and if she held opinions of the women before she joined the cast to how she really feels about sophmore RHOBH housewife Brandi Glanville.

"I'm still trying to get used to this group of crazy women," Joyce began, laughing. She says she did watch the show before she joined the lineup, and admits to having some preconceived notions about her cast mates. "I thought Kyle was going to be a terrible person. But I really like Kyle, she's one of my closest friends today!"

Joyce continued, not mincing her words in the slightest. "I thought Brandi and I'd get along great. I thought wow, this girl is honest; I love honest people. And actually, I couldn't dislike her more."

The Puerto Rican beauty queen stayed on the subject of the bad blood between her and Brandi, explaining, "I don't know what Brandi's problem is. I just think Brandi is a conniving person, and she manipulates [people]."

Joyce mused, "[Brandi acts out] for shock value and to keep herself relevant. This is her life, this is all she does." That last bit was clearly meant as a backhanded insult, but as with everything else she says, Joyce let the words roll off her tongue with smiling eyes.

She did have kind words for Bravo staffers she worked with while filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4. "The Producers and crews are amazing," she gushed.

For her part, Brandi isn't backing down. While she admitted on Twitter this week that she's displayed some bad behavior of late, she thinks it makes for good TV. In Brandi's latest Bravo blog post, posted Jan. 7, the controversial Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's claws really came out.

"The difference between myself and Joyce is that I won't settle. I have to be physically attracted to the men I date." This direct insult to Joyce's husband is catty and unnecessary, two qualities Brandi has been excelling at showing off this season.

At the end of her blog post, Brandi pointed out that although Joyce thinks she is just a "stupid little b--ch" (Joyce's on-camera words), Brandi at least knows what the words 'chastise' and 'reprimand' mean. (RHOBH cast member Lisa Vanderpump used the words with Joyce during a get together at Lisa's house filmed for the Jan. 6 episode, and Joyce was thoroughly befuddled.)

Look, we like Brandi. We really do. But she has allowed Joyce to get under her skin to the point where Brandi is the one making a fool of herself on national television week after week. How stupid! It's not 'winning' or 'standing your ground'; it's childish, unattractive and is putting a tarnish on your already-shaky public image that may prove hard to just buff away. All we can hope is Brandi Glanville exhibits a little more class in future episodes, if not for herself than out of respect for her role as a mother and public figure, but we aren't holding our breath.

Note: If you are at the point where your own emotional turmoil is causing you to lash out at others on a regular basis, perhaps it is time to seek some help for yourself. Seriously.
