The reunion shows may be over, but “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” still has one more new episode on the way. On May 14, TV By the Numbers reported that a special episode of “RHOA” titled “Husbands Revealed” will wrap up the 2014 season on Sunday, May 18. This is a first for Bravo because the network has never aired a show devoted exclusively to the husbands of the housewives. It's also the end to a very tumultuous season in the ATL.
“Husbands” Revealed” will address the latest season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but from the husbands’ perspectives. Greg, Peter, Apollo and Todd come together for a boys’ night out and reveal some tantalizing tidbits about their lives with their famous wives. As reported on Media Village, the husbands “keep it real” and talk about everything from who really wears the pants in their relationships to how hard it is to please their discerning wives. “Husbands Revealed,” a new episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” is set to air at 8 p.m. EST and PST on Sunday, May 18 on Bravo.
In other “RHOA” news, NeNe Leakes, who recently competed on “Dancing with the Stars,” hinted on Twitter that she might be leaving the show. On May 14, she posted, “Never continue n a job you don’t enjoy. Follow your passion & success will follow u!” Leakes is the only original cast member, but she could be looking for greener pastures, like those she found on “Glee” and “The New Normal.”
According to Black Scoop Media, Leakes left “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” because producers would not meet her salary demands. According to a show insider, Leakes wanted not only a raise, but also control over which cast members she filmed with. It’s rumored that Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams will also not be returning to “RHOA.” If the rumor mill is true, only Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks and controversial Kenya Moore will return for season 7, leaving three new spots to fill.
Season six ended with a physical brawl between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams (see video above). Although it may have seemed like a low point in “RHOA” history, it was actually a huge ratings bonanza. After much media hype beforehand, part one of the reunion special pulled in 4.1 million viewers, making it the most watched episode in “Housewives” franchise history. According to Wetpaint, the highly anticipated reunion episode did so well that it beat the NBA playoffs in the all-important ratings game.
Although there is only one episode of “RHOA” left for this year, new episodes of “The Real Housewives of New York City” and “The Real Housewives of Orange County” are currently airing on Bravo. On deck is “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” which premieres on July 13. As posted by Us Weekly, the new season will feature returning cast members Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Dina Manzo (who makes a comeback). Jacqueline Laurita, Kathy Wakile, and Caroline Manzo are out. The three new stars include Teresa Aprea (owner of a famous Italian restaurant in NYC), Nicole Mauriello (a two-time divorcee and Aprea’s identical twin sister), and Amber Marchese (a no-nonsense Jersey native and breast cancer survivor).
