Kenya Moore of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” is getting some action in the music department. The former Miss USA, who is sometimes mistaken for Beyonce, debuts her first single Sunday on the "Watch What Happens Live" show with Andy Cohen reports EnStarz on Friday, Jan. 11. This should fit well into the Bravo reality show plotline, season five, where she is getting no action from her “weird” relationship with Walter.
Kenya Moore looks a bit like Beyonce, and has been mistaken for her frequently. “Every day somebody thinks I'm Beyonce!" the singer/actress gushed. She spoke of the time she attended President Obama's inauguration in January of 2009, when a “hundred people” mistakenly confused her with the much more famous singer. “People have always said i look like Beyonce. I dont see it & doesn't mean I think it 2! @Beyonce is gorgeous no doubt comparison is an honor.” Yes it is, but you can’t build a career on that alone.
And she means to go her own way. Kenya’s new song is not about mistaken identity, it’s about being yourself. “My #GoneWithTheWind Fabulous song is about owning who u are,” she tweeted. “People who try to hurt u or hate u will never break u.”
Or is the mistaken identity moving in another direction. Bravo host Andy Cohen said he could see “an army of drag queens performing this song!” Is that a compliment? It sounds like a news-getter, anyway. The host further said he was “not gonna sleep till Sunday night!”
