Is NeNe Leakes losing touch with reality (TV)? It would seem so as rumors surround the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" veteran. It seems that she may not be returning to Bravo's biggest reality TV show. According to a Monday report by Mstarz, NeNe Leakes went crazy with the demands and Bravo pulled the plug on the big-headed reality star.
If the rumors are true, it sounds less like NeNe Leakes was fired and more like she and the show couldn't agree on contract terms. See, NeNe is a big star now. Well at least she thinks so. The truth is, she's been on a couple prime time sitcoms and now she thinks she's a top celebrity. Honestly, she is one of the most recognizable reality stars to date.
Just coming off a stint on "Dancing with the Stars" and with a recurring role on both "Glee" and now cancelled "The New Normal" some say Leakes demands were just too much. In her eyes, NeNe is worth so much more than she was getting paid and started making demands. Not only did NeNe want a pay increase but according to reports, she started making demands about who she would and wouldn't film with. To sum it up, she was becoming too much of a diva.
It seems that everyone is fed up with NeNe Leakes' diva antics. Even Andy Cohen who executive produces "Real Housewives of Atlanta" seems to think NeNe is out of control. According to reports, Cohen was upset with NeNe during the "RHOA" reunion special when Leakes refused to answer his questions. The reunion show is an integral part of the "Housewives" shows and her refusal to take part just shows arrogance.
It has also been rumored that Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams both won't be back either. Although Bravo contends that no decisions have been made, and that is true because they haven't started filming yet, it has been said that neither woman was offered a new contract. NeNe of course was but her demands are just too high.
Will there be a major shake up on season 7 of "Real Housewives of Atlanta?" It would definitely be a different show without NeNe Leakes but maybe that isn't such a bad thing.
