'Real Housewives of Atlanta': Marlo Hampton talks Africa trip

Even though Marlo Hampton is only a recurring star on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," she has still managed to receive plenty of attention this season -- especially when it comes to her trip to Africa with NeNe Leakes and many of the other women.

So what did Marlo have to say about the trip as a whole? Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, here is what Marlo had to say about getting to go across the world with the ladies:

"[That] was just a life experience. I just loved that experience, it changed my life. It was wonderful, the bad part definitely being Sheree's argument, I hate that that happened. But then the orphanage and the children, I loved that part, it touched me like no other. It reminded me of my dad, which you don't know, well you should know. I grew up in a foster home also, so just being in there just kind of reminded me of my childhood and it was just really sad. I wish I could've grabbed them and brought them back here to the U.S. with me."

Marlo also added that she did not mean to insult Kim Zolciak when she referenced a "Big Poppa" earlier this season -- but she was surprised by the reaction.

Despite the 2012 Academy Awards airing Sunday, a new "Housewives" is set to air on Bravo. What do you think about Marlo's comments?
