On Friday night, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss' ex-fiance A.J. Jewell was killed at an Atlanta nightclub, police say.

According to MyFoxAtlanta, Jewell died after a scuffle at the Body Tap club on Marietta Boulevard.

During the fight, Jewell suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital where he later died.

On this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the relationship between Kandi Burruss and A.J. Jewell has been a main focus of the show, as Burruss' mother was unsupportive of her daughter's engagement to Jewell.  Though Kandi attempted to showcase A.J's positive traits, Burruss' mother found it difficult to get past the fact that Jewell had six children with multiple women.

In August, however, Burruss told the media that her engagement with Jewell was off, stating that the pressure of the show hurt her opportunity at marriage.

Burruss is a R&B singer and songwriter, and a former member of the girl group Xscape.

That's why when you become a parent you don't associate with potentially dangerous people.

I felt Kandiss mother saw something that she couldn't. The mother could feel her daughter would be very hurt. And now she is because he ended up dying. Sometimes we can feel things but can't explain and Kandiss mother knew something was wrong! My deepest sympathy Kandiss and to A.J. family.

Atlanta is one of those places now days like my city, Baltimore and trust me it could have been anybody. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.Kandi's pain is not any less, because of the break up I'm sure. No one is promised to us for always, may AJ rest in peace.
