It’s just another day with the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” full of drama and fire. The latest season of RHOA ended with tremendous ratings, the biggest in the Housewives franchise history, which is no little deal. But, to keep the interest up, fans have to know that things are gonna keep shaking, maybe even to the point of losing a cast member or two! Given that, it is no surprise, really, that there are swirling reports that NeNe Leakes has either left the show or has been fired.
It has not been confirmed at this point, but there is plenty of speculation. Rumor has it that her storyline has lost its luster—huh?—and that her behavior toward the network finally reached a breaking point. Well, true, her behavior probably would not be best described as “gracious” a good part of the time, but, hey, we’re talking about a RHOA—is graciousness expected, much less required?
Andy Cohen recently referred to Leakes as the Housewife he most enjoys having dinner with, but indications are that he may have created a monster with his compliment. According to RealityTea.com, Cohen recently said that he was tired of her diva attitude. An unnamed source was quoted in an article as having said, “He was pissed about the way that NeNe acted on the reunion this year, so much so that he might not ask her to come back. He thinks she has become a diva and was very irritated with her for not really answering his questions!”
Andy Cohen’s alleged opinion aside, Leakes is doing a great job of stirring the pot herself, posting the following on Twitter:
Good morning tweetie pies! Never continue n a job u don't enjoy! Follow ur passion & success will follow u! Hav a great day
What does that mean? Has she stopped enjoying RHOA and moved on herself? Or is she just offering general words of wisdom to start the day off on a positive note with her 1.56 million followers? At this point, no one seems to know the truth, but it is causing quite a stir in the world of Housewives everywhere.
Could NeNe just be trying to gauge the land for a list of demands—more money, greater profile, etc.? Sure, it would not be the first time a star had created a media fury to prove how important he/she is to a network. But, it’s a tricky game to play—there is always, ALWAYS someone else waiting to be “the next big thing.” Networks realize this and understand it, making them willing to take a chance if a diva trip gets too out-of-hand. And, before you know it, fans are asking, “NeNe who?”
Bottom line: Circumstantial evidence is building, but there has still been no confirmation on the status of NeNe Leakes as a RHOA from Bravo or from the celebrity herself.
