When playing games on your phone a lot of the time it can be good to stay with the simple. This is not the case with "Fright Heights" from Chillingo Ltd.
The game, as you have guessed, takes place in a hotel. Instead of trying to keep your guests in, you want to use your ghosts and ghouls to scare them out. On each floor you have to place your creatures in strategic places to maximize the scare.
The problem with "Fright Heights" is that it is so easy and simple it's boring. There is no strategy where there should be. Don't waste too much of your time with placement as everything seems to even out no matter where you put your ghosts.
The game does become a little trickier with the scream-o-meter, which builds in strength with each scare. This strength is then used to power a talisman to unlock scarier creatures but there is still a lot lacking.
There seems to be a lot of little things in this game that add up to mostly nothing. There is understandably a fun aspect, you are instructed by a cartoon cat with glowing eyes, but it gets boring fast.
There is no real challenge anywhere. You will be waiting for something that never comes. The design is poor.
As with most games you can sign into your Facebook. The problem is how many times you will be asked. Don't bother keeping track of the amount of times you tap no because you are sure to lose count, adding unnecessary annoyance to your gameplay.
Chillingo has done better.
