With all of this information and new found knowledge, it is natural to be curious about what real cases might look like. Rod, the founder of PAPS (Phoenix Arizona Paranormal Society) gave some examples to further illustrate how his group of paranormal investigators handles cases involving the paranormal.
Case 1: “John” – In a case in West Phoenix, Rod and his team were called out because a family was experiencing concerns with their young daughter not being able to sleep due to something continuously wiggling her bed at night. Rod was told by the father that the child told him each night not to shut the closet door because “he doesn’t want it closed”. When the father asked her who “he” was, she responded with, “John”. The father decided to shut the closet door one night and that is when”John” began wiggling the girl’s bed so she couldn’t sleep. He didn’t want the closet door closed and wanted to be sure everyone knew it! When Rod and his team came to the house, the spirit seemed to sense they were there. The child’s training toilet in the house began to do strange things, like playing music on it’s own, and the temperature dropped from 74 degrees to 61 degrees in a matter of five minutes. The PAPS investigators performed their cleansing process and “John” is no longer in the child’s closet.
Case 2: Jennie Wade House - In another spirit case, Rod and another member of the original PAPS team were in Gettysburg, PA looking into many of the “haunted” areas. One such location was the Jennie Wade house. Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during Civil War and it is said that she still walks the halls of her home to this day. While Rod was there, he and the team member saw an object move across a table on it’s own accord as well as Rod experiencing something growling in his ear while up in Jennie Wade’s bedroom. Rod snapped some pictures of the bedroom and decided that, with the growling persisting, it was time to leave. On his way out, he also witnessed a chair moving across the kitchen floor by itself. When Rod and the team member got home, they developed the pictures and found that in the mirror directly across from the doorway in the bedroom, an image of a woman carrying a basket was present. This image was not there when he took the picture while in the bedroom! What makes this image even creepier is that the doors in the house had been removed from the frames a long time ago however, in this picture, the woman’s image had a door in the background! It was an image frozen in time, complete with the style of dress the woman had on. Was it Jennie Wade? Who knows but something was definitely there, according to Rod.
