REAL Audio Video, Control4, and Irontown Homes Create Home Design Genius

Three Utah-based companies, REAL Audio, Control4, and Irontown Homes have worked together to create a demo home which uses modular construction and design.

The home boasts sustainable living products and home automation solutions, and will be on display for builders, developers and architects to tour at a national builders conference in San Francisco in late June.

With this, futuristic home dwellers will be able to control skylights, lights, shades, temperature, security cameras and smart locks, as well as a whole-home audio and entertainment system.

A homeowner will be able to personalize the features of the home via smartphone or tablet. The sustainable features include; weathered barn wood siding, weathering steel roof, Thermally Broken Western Windows with a multi-slide door and Ductless 23 SEER heating and cooling, and BIBS (Blown in Blanket System) exterior wall insulation.

The home itself is over 534 square feet and was built inside of a giant warehouse.

"The house represents the latest in construction technology and in smart home technology the marriage between the two technologies" said Paul Williams, VP of Security and Communications at Control4.

"These aren't your grandmother's homes, they are green efficient and secure and affordable," added Williams.

The homes are designed to take the sun's energy and use it in the most efficient manner. When the weather and temperature are hot, the home will adjust the windows, lighting and shades to make the inside of the home more cool. When the weather is cool, the home will adjust in the opposite manner. ensuring low energy costs and a comfortable environment.

An average homeowner with a smaller home can convert their home to a smart home with prices starting at $1500. A large home can be up into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Each home is customized to fit the homeowner's needs.

The home will be touring the country and will be on display at several locations. Further information may be found at Control4 (NASDAQ: CTRL)
