A majority of Tom Wisdom's fans first took notice of him when he played Astinos, the young Spartan warrior, in the 2007 blockbuster, 300. After intense training to beef up and elegantly choreographed fight moves, he stole several scenes; most memorably the scene where he and Stelios team up and take down every Persian coming at them.
Tom will get to tap back into his inner warrior once again in the upcoming SyFy pilot, Dominion. He will play Michael the archangel, the fiercest fighter of all the angels. The show is a continuation from the 2010 film, Legion set 25 years after the battle between mankind and the angels.
According to Deadline.com, Set against a backdrop of the ultimate celestial battle as it touches down on earth, the series follows the perilous journey of Alex Lannen (Christopher Egan of NBC's Kings), a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity. Rysen (Alan Dale of Ugly Betty) is the general who led the humans to victory against the angels during the Extermination War. Now ruler of Vega (once known as Las Vegas), one of four cities left standing after the war, Rysen finds himself negotiating politics in the heavily militarized city, maintaining calm over its stratified society and keeping a watchful eye on his daughter, Claire. Michael (Tom Wisdom) is the greatest of the warrior archangels who was instrumental in helping humanity defeat the angels during the war. Michael is now entrenched in Vega, using his superior supernatural abilities to defend the city’s inhabitants from enemy attacks. The role was played by Paul Bettany in the movie.
It is set to begin filming later this month in Cape Town, South Africa and according to IMDB.com, will air on the SyFy Network in December of this year.
