READY SET G-O-A-L

The New Year has ascended on us and many people are looking for new ways to improve their lives. One of the approaches most people take is to make specific resolutions at the start of the year that are designed to help us stay focused; if we are willing to stick to those resolutions we can achieve the improvements we seek.As "we" adults go through this self improvement process we often leave our children out of the equation. The start of the new year brings with it a great opportunity for parents to help their children development their self-awareness so that self-actualization can be realized by them. However, we must remember that children needed our help to get there.

Ready set G-O-A-L is a process that can be utilized at the start of the year and beyond. Parental influence is a very important because it determines who our children become. Parents should use their window of opportunity to ensure their children become the best person they can be. (G) Guidance- Talk to your child about their dreams and desires. What do they want to be when they grow up? Help them to devise a pathway for getting their by introducing short term goals for them to achieve throughout the year. (O) Opportunity- Parents have at least eighteen years to engage their child in positive ways. Communication is key in this area make sure your are talking to your child often while they are in your home. (A) Advise- Seek good advice on how to coach your child from experts and other parents. Once you are armed with good advice begin to advise your child. (L) Love- Displaying a loving attitude towards your child helps them to develop confidence and to want to seek their highest good.

New Years resolutions do have to be made on January first! It's never to late to sit down with your child and help them...........Ready Set G-O-A-L today.
