TAMPA - Readers of Tampa Bay’s Mayhem Magazine may be a little confused as to whether or not the magazine has ceased publication permanently or just temporarily. The reason for this confusion is because there apparently has been no new issues published since their December issue. In addition, the magazine’s December issue was published later then usual as well.

Tampa Bay’s Mayhem Magazine is a small-time print publication with a monthly circulation of less then 500 copies, as last reported in early 2012. The magazine is published by Vertex Worldwide Media in Tampa which was also the producer of the now defunct internet radio station, Black Pearl Rock Radio. The magazine published it’s debut issue in October, 2011, originally starting out as a hybrid magazine containing erotic stories, adult film industry editorials, local music scene editorials, and various other entertainment content. Throughout the past two years the magazine gradually changed it’s demographic direction to cover mainly the local music scene.

Whether or not Vertex Worldwide Media has permanently or just temporarily ceased publication of Mayhem Magazine is unknown at this time. There has been no official statement issued regarding the status of the magazine, and the magazine’s website has not been updated since December.

The St. Petersburg Live Music Bar Scene Column has contacted Vertex Worldwide Media to request an official statement regarding the current status of Mayhem Magazine. Vertex Worldwide Media has yet to respond back the St. Petersburg Live Music Bar Scene Column’s request.
