Read the Bones is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed Aug. 31, 2013 during the PAX Prime "Magic" party. Featured in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set, this black common sorcery will help you dig deep into your deck for a combo piece, threat, or answer to help you win the game.
Read the Bones - 2B
Scry 2, then draw two cards. You lose 2 life. (To scry 2, look at the top two cards of your library, then put any number of them on the bottom of your library and the rest on top in any order.)
The dead know lessons the living haven't learned.
Unlike Sign in Blood, Read the Bones can easily be splashed into multicolored decks. Although it costs one more mana, you'll be able to weed out potential dead draws or get further into your deck for a specific card that you may be looking for. Think Night's Whisper, except you're paying one mana for scry 2. The only downside to Read the Bones is that it's a sorcery.
Read the Bones is a powerful card that'll help you gain an advantage in limited, letting you search one tenth of your deck for any bombs you may have been lucky enough to open. With scry returning on Read the Bones and blue cards like Voyage's End, there's some potential for Duskmantle Seer to shine in Standard. Regardless of what cards it's paired with, there's no doubt that Read the Bones will see play.
