This Tuesday, before school starts, come to Terhune Orchards with your children (preschool to eight years) on August 26. There are two Read & Pick programs, at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Each child will have a chance to learn about the history of apples, as they are read a story about them and Johnny Appleseed. Parents and their young children will celebrate the origin of this delicious fruit that goes very well in a child’s or a grownup’s lunchbox.

The cost for each child is $7, and will include a small container, where each child will pick their own apples, which is included in the price. Pre-registration is requested for this event.

Terhune Orchards is located at 330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton, N.J. 08540, their phone number is (609) 924-2310. Don’t forget to sign up for their newsletter, as they have many events throughout the year for the entire family.

Don’t forget that local home grown summer fruits and vegetables will not be around much longer.
