It seems astonishing but people seem to enjoy being scared out of their mind. Halloween is a time of the year eliciting scary frights. Haunted houses and frightful tales are popular activities leading up to the notorious night. Halloween night is the focal point with parties and trick or treating.
This seems the time of the year to present the story of Lizzie Borden, although the distressing tale is not of interest to everyone. This story possibly creates a fascination due to a curiosity with its unresolved nature. Only a brief view will be unveiled due to the disturbing nature of the ordeal.
Lizzie Andrew Borden lived in the family home at Fall River Massachusetts with her father Andrew Jackson Borden, stepmother Abby, sister Emma, with live in maid Bridget Sullivan. The aftermath of the tragic story was the murder of father and stepmother in a bloodbath. Lizzie was arrested, tried and acquitted with the murder unsolved. The house has become a museum and Bed & Breakfast with eight guest rooms open to the public.
Museum tours are offered seven days a week, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Each tour is nearly 50 minutes long with the last beginning at 3:00 PM.
The museum is closed on major holidays.

Photographs may be taken in the house but video recording is verboten.

Fall River is a 6 hour drive of 400 miles from Rochester NY. Drive east on I-90 through Albany past the border into Massachusetts. Continue through Springfield and Worcester then US 195 south through Providence RI to Fall River MA.
