Amber Portwood is planning to release a tell-all book.
Last week, the former "Teen Mom" star announced that she had been writing a book for the last couple of years, which she hopes will inspire others to take a different path and learn from her mistakes.
On July 8, The Ashley's Reality Roundup shared an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming tell-all.
“What makes me completely fulfilled is the love I have with Leah and the emotions I feel when I’m with her. She’s really holding onto me, and I’m holding onto her too," Portwood wrote in the excerpt. "It makes me feel like everything is worth something. Leah reminds me every day not just of my responsibilities as a parent and a person, but of the joy I’m capable of feeling. For the first time in my life, I see the point in everything. I finally believe I can be happy.”
On July 2, Portwood initially revealed her plans to In Touch Weekly, explaining what fans could expect from her personal memoir.
“It’s a brutally honest account of how bad my life got,” Portwood told In Touch Weekly. “Addiction. Mental illness. Death. Divorce. Betrayal. Violence. Suicide attempts. Felony charges. Rehab. Drug overdoses and jail. I’m going to tell you how it all happened.”
Prior to her prison stint, Portwood struggled with drug abuse and hard partying. Although she tried to stop on her own, her addiction quickly spiraled out of control and eventually led her to turn herself in for a five-year prison sentence, which stemmed from a physical altercation between her and her daughter's father, Gary Shirley. While Portwood had the option of going to drug treatment instead of prison, she felt that there was no way for her to get clean unless she was behind bars.
Now that she is a free woman, Portwood has been focused on her daughter and her sobriety, and so far, she's doing great!
