Reaction Mixed Among News of Robin Thicke & Paula Patton Separation

Social media was buzzing with the news of singing superstar Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton separating on Monday, Feb. 24th.

After being together over 20 years (the two married in 2005), they announced in a statement to People Magazine "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”

As expected speculation immediately began to swirl what was the cause of the break up of the couple. Many pointed to the video for the highly successful song "Blurred Lines" and the subsequent performance of Thicke and Miley Cyrus as signs that there was trouble in paradise. On Twitter the reaction was mixed.

User @TiffDubb4 tweeted "Ok. I'm a little sad about this Paula Patton/Robin Thicke separation. They seemed perfect for each other." While ‏@briantruitt quipped "We can totally blame Miley for this, right?"

I share the sentiments of ‏@mikeChek1_2 who tweeted "I'm rooting for Robin Thicke and Paula Patton. Hopefully they can reconcile their marriage during this time of separation."
