A razor blade inside a croissant has one woman in Connecticut warning the public. On Dec. 11, Delish.com reported that a woman bit into a croissant that she purchased from a Dunkin' Donuts in Windham only to get shards of metal in her mouth along with the flaky goodness.
"Priscilla Salas made the discovery when she felt something sharp cut the inside of her mouth. It turned out to be a broken razor blade. Some pieces found in the croissant measured up to one-quarter inch," Delish.com reports.
The razor blade croissant incident appears to have been an accident and not some sort of malicious "joke." Dunkin' Donuts believes that a box cutter must have "made its way" into the dough and ended up being baked into the croissants. Oops. They apologized, called this incident "isolated," and gave Salas a gift card. Yes, just a gift card. But Salas says that she wasn't hoping for a pay out -- she just wants people to be aware of what happened.
"I was just floored completely. It could be a little kid eating and not notice it and next thing you know their mouth is bleeding or something, so it is concerning. I just think its a public hazard. I want the public to know and be aware of what they buy and look over everything that they eat," Salas said.
The razor blade croissant story is making waves on the Internet this week. Do you think Dunkin' Donuts should have done more for Salas?
