Raz Simone releases touching Father's Day inspired visual 'So Far'

With Father’s Day on the horizon this weekend, you can rest assure that there’s certainly going to be a full-on continuance of visuals or tributes to hit the internet and/or tubes in grandiose fashion. But for me, this day and the feeling surrounding this one-time joyous occasion particularly shifted when my own father lost his life to a heap of health ailments, eventually passing away from a heart attack a decade ago. Ironically enough, my father would've also been celebrating his birthday today, too.

Yes, while some may argue that 10 years is fairly a long time to mentally move on in some ways, it can be extremely a sensitive time for those who’ve lost loved ones, well, simply because as everyone enjoys the presence of their dads (gifts and brunches included) – uh, others are merely left behind with memories – which isn’t easy to digest by any means. Not all is so melancholic for families at this time of year, though.

For Hip-Hop celebs, say, like Diddy and rapper Game – all take pride in celebrating fatherhood throughout the year, often patting themselves on the back for a job well done – and constantly captioning those mushy yet adorable IG posts with the customary “daddy’s little girl” tags. Who could forget Game’s precious princess Cali on the now axed Arsenio show? Moments like these make you have a profound appreciation for caring fathers in the world, and taking heed for this meaningful and annual occurrence is Seattle rapper Raz Simone, who drops a touching visual from his project Cognitive Dissonance – the set’s sixth video to be exact – and for which is a tribute to his little man. Watch Raz’s telling tale of making ends meet for his baby boy above. Special thanks to Michael Rodriguez of Black Umbrella.
