Raymond Felton arrested: New York Knicks point guard arrested on gun charges

Raymond Felton, arrested on Tuesday morning (Feb. 25), is facing some big gun charges. Felton getting arrested the morning after the New York Knicks lost to the Dallas Mavericks on a buzzer beater shows just how tough it has been lately for die-hard fans of the team. According to a report from CBS Sports, this all stems from him allegedly leaving a semiautomatic handgun at the apartment of his estranged wife, Ariane Felton.

Would NY Sign Danny Granger?

The veteran point guard was supposed to be the answer for the team when Jeremy Lin left to sign with the Houston Rockets. Last decent he was at least decent in that role, averaging 13.3 points and 6.5 assists per game. This season he has struggled with consistency and often fails to score in double-digits on a team that really needs him to be more active on the offensive end of the court.

Three criminal charges were reportedly leveled against Raymond Felton when he was arrested, but the exact ones have not been leaked just yet. He is expected to appear in court at some point on Tuesday, though, which is when the story is certain to really blow up in the press. If something comes of it, the situation seems like one that could lead to the Knicks finally cutting ties and moving on from a very disappointing free agent signing.
