Ubisoft announced Wednesday that the colorful Rayman Legends will make the jump from the current-gen Xbox 360 and PS3 to the next-gen Xbox One and PS4 early in 2014. Somehow Snoop Lion is involved with this announcement as well with a head-scratching new trailer.
Rayman Legends will land on the PS4 and Xbox One on Feb. 25, 2014 according to a press release received and will feature upgraded graphics and reduced loading times. Additionally, players on both platforms will also get exclusive costumes for Rayman and Globox: Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas and Globox Vaas on Xbox One; and Assassin Ray on Playstation 4.
Both next-gen console versions will also come with a set of exclusive features. The Xbox One version will include 10 exclusive challenges to unlock new time-limited Achievements. Meanwhile, PS4 owners will be able to use the DualShock 4 controller’s touchpad for actions such as scratching Lucky Tickets, as well as making and sharing screenshots and videos with the community. Of course, Remote Play via the PS Vita will also be supported.
Rayman Legends has had an interesting development history as it originally started out as a Wii U exclusive launch title before it was delayed to be released to the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. It was well received critically with a Metacritic score just over 90 on all three home consoles thanks to its engaging platforming play and beautiful hand drawn graphics.
