According to Comic Book Movie on March 18, an interview with Ray Stevenson reveals some interesting information involving "Thor: Dark World". During the red carpet premiere of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", an interview gave revealing information about the Marvel movie.
Ray Stevenson is all about the Volstagg
To quote Volstagg from the movie "Thor", "Do not mistake my appetite for apathy!" Such quotes have given rise to Steven and how he considerably talked about his role in "Thor: Dark World".
“Asgard's under great threat, I mean the biggest threat it's ever had. The worlds have been turned upside down, the stakes are a lot higher, it's a lot grittier and darker. It's gonna be a lot of fun! I saw Christopher Eccleston on set two or three times. The man is just a construement sort of, malevolent, dark force. He's under so much ...make-up that took hours and hours [to apply]. It takes a lot, but he's bringing something very very dark and special to it. There's always potential [for Volstagg to show up in The Avengers sequel]. There’s always room for a big guy in the end".
Of course, there's always potential for anything in this world to happen, but it's nice to hear such things from an actor who was in the film. Stevenson also mentioned he'd even play "The Punisher" again if given the opportunity.
Malekith, as played by Chris Eccleston, has an enormous presence
Stevenson even explained Eccleston's role of the character Malekith as a "malevolent dark force" and even in an interview with Tom Hiddleston revealed to fans, at a struggled attempt to not reveal spoilers.
He speaks of Malekith's own ambition:
"I think he'll be absolutely magnetic [in the movie]. Malekith has his own ambition. Whether or not Loki can coincide with or contradict, subvert or enhance that ambition remains to be seen".
"Thor: Dark World" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 8 in theaters
