The future is not looking so bright for star Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. On March 27, ESPN reported that the assault charges looming over Rice's head since the February assault on fiance' Janay Palmer have been upgraded.

Rice was indicted by a grand jury with charges of third-degree assault for the attack that left fiance' Janay Palmer unconscious. Palmer was also charged with simple assault for the events earlier that evening at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.

TMZ was first to show video of Ray Rice dragging an unconscious Janay Palmer from a casino elevator. The were already in trouble for an earlier incident in the hotel in which police were called. The elevator incident is just icing on the cake.

While there was no public video of what happened in the elevator, viewers saw the NFL star dragging his fiance from it and she was not alert. Reports of additional video made rounds but never surfaced publicly. Apparently there is enough evidence of what went on to charge Rice for hitting Palmer and knocking her unconscious.

If convicted in the Revel Casino elevator incident, Ray Rice faces 3-5 years in prison in addition fines. This could ultimately end his career as a Baltimore Ravens running back.
