Baltimore Ravens' running back Ray Rice was arrested this past Friday in Atlantic City, New Jersey, after what is being called a "very minor physical altercation" with a woman who has been identified as his fiance. CBS Sports reported on Feb. 16, 2014, that the team has confirmed Ray Rice's arrest.
The Ravens released a statement:
"We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancée. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained," the Ravens said in a statement.
An argument was said to have occurred between Rice and his fiance at the Revel Casion on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Michael Diamondtein, an attorney based in Philadelphia, is representing Rice. He has said that he is not entirely sure what Ray Rice has been charged with yet by the police. The 27-year-old Rice was released on his own recognizance.
"We haven't seen any charging documents yet," Diamondstein said. "There was an argument that included Ray. I can't give any specifics because we haven't seen the document yet."
Evidence is still being gone through and police are still looking into the situation that Diamondstein says could just be a "misunderstanding."
