Ray Rice and fiance: Dual simple assault charges and shocking video

Ray Rice and his fiance were both charged with simple assault after an altercation at an Atlantic City casino. On Feb. 19, TMZ broke news with a shocking video where Rice can be seen dragging an unconscious Janay Palmer from an elevator on Saturday.

According to the report, Ray Rice and Janay Palmer were both arrested after police say both of them were allegedly fighting in the Revel Casino in Atlantic City. Soon after, video surveillance caught Ray Rice dragging his fiance out of an elevator and she was out cold.

While it is unclear exactly what transpired leading to Palmer's unconsciousness, many are saying it may be a direct result of further assault by Rice.

Prior surveillance prompted Revel Casino security to contact police after Rice and Palmer were seen hitting each other with their hands. Although Rice's attorney, Andrew Alperstein, called the incident "very minor," the video surveillance that TMZ has made available definitely looks very serious.

Both Ray Rice and Janay Palmer were booked and charged with simple assault-domestic violence and will be seen in court later in the week. It is unclear at this point what actions the NFL may take against Rice. He has reportedly been in contact with Ravens coach John Harbaugh on monday though.
