As of 30 minutes ago, today, December 15th and at the time of this publishing, Ray Price, who is still in a coma has NOT passed. I repeat, “has NOT passed away!” It would be the big story to report his death, but I am choosing to relay that he is still with us. This comes from a very reliable competent and close sources to the family within the last few minutes today.
Talking with his close friends and family it has been adding even more pain with these reports. As of 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, Ray is resting quietly. He may be with us for many more hours, days or weeks. Wherever, people are getting this information is beyond me.
One close family friend – (I will not release her name) posted in Ray Price TheCherokee Cowboy Page on Facebook, “Whoever keeps deleting this, I will keep posting! I just spoke with Vergie, she was in the room with Ray. He has not passed and is resting. It won't be long, but as of now he is still with us!”
The latest post from Janie Price was 21 minutes ago: “At this time our loveable Ray Price is still with us. When it is the time there will be a official statement of Bill Mack.” “It’s the same page listed as an administrator of Ray Price’s Facebook page.
Bill Mack is Country Music deejay and Radio Hall of Famer and close friend of the Prices. On Sunday afternoon, he also indicated that Price is still alive, although he added that the ‘Crazy Arms’ singer is “fading rapidly.”
The rumors are running rampant and now the family feels like people are ghoulishly reporting his death! Even Cliff Price, Ray’s son was cruely misinformed as he reported: “I have heard my Dad has passed and I believe it. I love you Dad and I will see you again someday. Cliff Price”
But soon, a man in of the Ray Price Fan Club posted to the group and to Cliff, “David Allen Potter If your were welcome to share in this with Ray and other family members…you would know it officially and not be subject to questionable reports that somehow get manufactured…this is TOO MUCH…so sorry you are having ,on top of what you have been through..to have this agony of not knowing the truth if your dad has passed on….NO HUMAN…let alone a son of the GREAT RAY PRICE should get the jerked around treatment….I am sorry but I am also FURIOUS! My prayers are with you and your dad anyone else who is truly, genuinely saddened and affected by this event .” Well said!
Shirley Bowes, another member of the fan Club said, “Cliff , Sirius radio just said they talked to the family one hour ago and your dad is still with us (8 minutes ago.)
Cliff responded “I believe I have been deceived by some cruel people and they need to stop this. I understand my Dads is still alive but barely hanging on. Clliff Price”
Ray has been in a coma. He was diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer. On, December 12, 2013 Taste of Country magazine reported, “Ray Price has entered hospice care in his home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. After being hospitalized earlier this month, the Country Music Hall of Famer and his wife decided to end aggressive treatment for the cancer he’s battled for over two years.
Ray leaves a beautiful message to his fans that day. “I love my fans and have devoted my life to reaching out to them,” he says, according to the television station. “I appreciate their support all these years and I hope I haven’t let them down. I am at peace. I love Jesus. I’m going to be just fine. Don’t worry about me. I’ll see you again one day.”
Please know that Ray is definitely still with us the time of this article. So halt the rumors. Ray’s family and friends sadness has been compounded enough. If you choose to report his death – it will be a much bigger story and widely read. And great for you who do know the exact time, but for now, I chose not to be a reporter of a false death of this great man. I chose to give you the truth as of this moment. Ray is still alive, so until you hear from the family, reporting his death, think again before you publish a rumor.
Please continue to pray for the legendary Ray Price and his family.
May God Bless Ray, his family and all the loyal fans who love him and the gift he has given us as a man, an inspiration and a legend that will never leave us – his music will last forever!
