A Ray Lewis billboard welcomed him to Mass. this weekend. The Baltimore Ravens linebacker and one of the biggest stars on the team has said that this will be his last season playing in the NFL. He and his team have one game left -- against the New England Patriots -- that will determine whether or not Lewis will make it to the Super Bowl one last time. According to Sports Grid, Pats fans have run with this notion.
New England fans have taken his retirement decision to another level. Many have used this as a way to "talk smack" since learning that the Ravens would be coming to town to face off in the AFC Championship. Kick off is tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Foxborough, the home of the favored Pats.
The Ray Lewis billboard reads "Ray's Retirement Party" and has a countdown that ends at the end of tonight's game (it is unknown if the time will be adjusted to follow the game exactly). The thought behind it has to do with the Patriots beating the Ravens, thus sending Lewis in to retirement without sending him to the Super Bowl first.
If the Patriots celebrate a win tonight, many people will be "laughing" at the "Ray Lewis retirement party jokes" that don't seem to be going away any time soon. Fans are expected to be holding signs and even wearing shirts that poke fun at Lewis' decision to end his amazing career.
Will the Ray Lewis billboard hold true tonight? Who do you think will be going to the Super Bowl?
