Ray C. is getting attention with his new music video, 'Got Damn (Aww Man)'

Ray C., a hip hop artist from San Antonio, Texas, is taking the Internet by storm with his music. According to an e-mail on Jan. 16, the rapper's new music video, "Got Damn (Aww Man,) has been featured on VEVO and has over 355,000 plays.

The rapper has made quite the name for himself by dominating freestyle battles. He was a top 8 finalist in BET 106 & Park: Freestyle Friday and was featured in BET's "The Deal." He has also opened for several big name artists such as Paul Wall and Chamillionaire.

Video director Dr. Teeth, who has worked with Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Paul Wall and several other artists, was quoted as saying,

"Very rare do you find a battle rapper who can actually make good records. Ray C has the skills and vocabulary to turn battle rap jabs into infectious grooves. Ray C stands among a small group, who can do this, he is the real deal! This is why I jumped at the chance to work with him!"

Ray C. began his career as an underground hip-hop artist while pursuing his Masters degree at Texas State University. Even while making music and videos, he knows the importance of a strong community. The hip-hop artist mentors students through Upward Bound programs and TRIO, a federal program created to provide opportunities and services to those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
