Who says the District lacks innovation and imagination? Because I would absolutely beg to differ.
This Thursday, February 28, 2013, RAW:natural born artists presents "Discovery", a nightlong celebration of all things creative, including visual and performing arts, live music, beauty and fashion events featuring local artists, performers, and designers.
Beginning at 8PM at IBIZA Night Club, located at 1222 1st Street NE in Washington, DC, attendees can enjoy various art and photography exhibits at Discovery's Pop Up Art Galleries and Shops, including works from local talent such as Sahar Naderi, Sophie Lembeck, Dortch Designs, and Nate Tyler Photography.
Ekklesia Clothing, Concept Om, and Desmond Handon are only a handful of local designers who will be featured in that night's fashion show, along with hair and make-up looks by local beauty gurus Tina B. and Shug W. as well as Parlour Salon.
Don't forget to put on your dancing shoes and highest heels: DJ Loud Tone will be turning tables all night, joined by several other live music and performances by Bobbie Allen, Angie Head, and Michael Newman, author of "Meeting Mr. Right".
Tickets start at $15, pre-purchased via www.rawartists.org/washingtondc/discovery to support your favorite local artist(s), or $20 at the door. With this 21 and over crowd promising to be stylish, stopping by in your best cocktail attire is strongly suggested!
