Supermodel Carol Alt has become famed for highlighting the benefits of raw foods diets and alternative health methods. Now she's excited about the opportunity to share her knowledge in a new show “The Healthy You,” which will showcase alternative ways to stay in shape, reported SF Gate on August 23.
At 52, Carol says that her raw food regime combined with a dedicated fitness program help her maintain her youthful body. She's such a believer in the benefits of her raw food diet that she's even written a book about it: "Easy Sexy Raw: 130 Raw Food Recipes, Tools, and Tips to Make You Feel Gorgeous and Satisfied" (click for details). She compares her new show to Dr. Mehmet Oz's talk show with a holistic flavor. “It’s basically (TV health expert) Dr. Oz, but think 180 degrees. It’s all alternative, it’s the things you don’t see in the mainstream," she explained. “I’m a woman, I’m getting older. We can’t deny that stuff. I just want to make it easier and healthier for other women to do the same thing. We’re doing a show on enzyme cures for cancer, the debate on vaccinations, coffee … mistakes people make in yoga. … I try everything, so everything has been tried on me.”
"Living well is an important topic for discussion," said Fox News executive VP programming Bill Shine. "As a renowned supermodel, Carol has embodied a healthy lifestyle for years and will bring both informative and helpful ideas to our viewers." As to whether she'll become the female Dr. Oz? We''ll bet our carrots (raw, of course) that she has a chance.
