While we’re in the deep freeze here now, Ravinia Festival is in the planning stages of their 2013 summer season, with some performers coming to Ravinia for the first time. Just announced is singer/songwriter Jewel, who will making her Ravinia debut on Sunday, June 16. Jewel launched her professional music career with her best-selling debut album Pieces of You, which went platinum. She received four Grammy award nominations and had sold over 27 million albums.
Celtic Woman will also be making their Ravinia debut June 12. Recently named Billboard magazine’s number-one world albums artists, this Irish ensemble combines traditional Irish music with original compositions and contemporary pop standards. Their albums have sold more than seven million copies around the world.
Back by popular demand is Sting, who will be returning to Ravinia on June 7 – 8, following his success in his 2011 World Tour. Live Nation is pleased to announce that the Back to Bass tour will feature Sting performing many of his greatest hits, along with a 5-piece band. The show has received spectacular reviews. Tickets for these dates will go on sale exclusively on the website on April 25.
