Now that the fall is here, it’s time to turn your taste buds from white wines to reds.
To do just that, we recommend Ravenswood’s winery’s new wine, Besieged. The limited 2012 red blend was just released in time for the cool weather. The wine is a combination of dark grape varietals, including Carignane, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Mourvedre, Alicante Bouschet and Barbera to offer a rich deep red color with a delicious flavor of blackberry, black cherry, plum and cardamom.
As for tasting, the Sonoma County wine starts off strong but finishes off smooth. We love the wine’s label, which features a trio of menacing black ravens against the backdrop of an eerie night sky.
Because there are just 12,000 cases available, be sure to get a bottle soon before they fly off the shelves.
