'Ravenswood' cast reacts to cancellation news

Yesterday, Feb. 14, TV Line first broke the news that ABC Family officially announced the cancellation of "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff, "Ravenswood". The network had high hopes for the show, transferring Tyler Blackburn, who plays Caleb, over to "Ravenswood" to helm the cast.

"Ravenswood" made its debut immediately following the "Pretty Little Liars" Halloween special last year, but its 10-episode run never grabbed the attention of fans the way "Pretty Little Liars" had, after taking on a supernatural twist and focusing on the town of Ravenswood's confusing curse.

Since the cancellation was announced, stars of the show have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and bid it farewell.

Nicole Anderson played Miranda, who remained on "Ravenswood" as a ghost after being killed off at the end of the first episode:

Adieu, Ravenswood. Endless gratitude to all of you who supported us along the way. It was a fun ride! Now onto the next.

"Pretty Little Liars" and "Ravenswood" creator, I. Marlene King, has also had to defend herself to explain the decision to end "Ravenswood" was not hers:

My dear, I would never cancel my own show. @Shami1412

And:

Thanks so much for all of your support. We had fun. We grew our family. We told our story. Well at least part of it. Love you guys. Xo

King also posted a photo of the "Ravenswood" cast last night, causing fans to speak out about their disappointment of the show’s cancellation, along with the lingering questions they have on what might have happened.

The news is unwelcome to Brett Dier, who played Luke and was also celebrating his birthday yesterday with fellow "Ravenswood" cast member and girlfriend, Haley Lu Richardson. While the two haven’t commented on the cancellation, both had expressed how much they missed the show:

Brett:

Being apart of this show has been incredible. I hope we can go for more! I wana thank you all for the support. I love you! #RavenswoodChat

And:

“@lisaontthemoon: @Brettdier I miss Ravenswood :( don't you?”

Yes i do :(

Haley Lu:

Like DUHHHH xoxo Tess (but seriously yes so so so much) “@lokirection: @HaleyLuhoo I miss Ravenswood so much, do you miss it too?”
