The Baltimore Ravens signed tight end Owen Daniels and running back Justin Forsett to one-year contracts and also brought back defensive tackle Terrence Cody.

The former Houston Texan is very familiar with Gary Kubiak and his offensive system, which should make for an easy transition.

He was released by the Texans after failing his physical. The deal with the Ravens is still dependent on Daniels passing a physical.

The signing of Daniels certainly makes it highly unlikely that Ed Dickson returns despite the lack of interest he has generated on the free agent market.

Daniels adds yet another weapon to a Ravens offense that is suddenly looking quite formidable. The key for Daniels will be staying on the field, as he has had trouble staying healthy in recent seasons.

Daniels will be the backup to Dennis Pitta, but it's likely the Ravens will utilize quite a bit of two tight-end formations. Daniels is also a far superior blocker to Pitta, making him very useful in running and short-yardage formations.

Forsett is a veteran running back who gives the Ravens more depth at the position and, potentially, more flexibility when drafting.

As for Cody, it makes sense to bring back a rotational lineman who provides depth and has knowledge of the defensive system.
