The Walt Harris era is over.
Just eight days into Camp 2K10, the Ravens cut-bait by releasing the 35-year-old defensive back.
Harris was originally signed in June with the hope that he would add depth to a injury-riddled secondary; however, he initially struggled to pass the team's conditioning test and only practiced sporadically because of a sore Achilles.
Hours before parting ways with Harris, the team signed cornerback Chris Hawkins, who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars last month. Hawkins, an undrafted rookie from LSU, had good size at 6-1, 187 lbs. But during his college career, Hawkins had a history of trouble with defending physical receivers.
