- Terrell Suggs received a second opinion on his torn biceps and will go the rest and rehab route as opposed to surgery, which has to be considered good news. The team has to be excited about the possibility of Suggs operating at 100 percent heading into the 2013 season.
- The Ravens are expected to meet with Joe Flacco's agent this week to try to hammer out a long-term deal. Ozzie Newsome seems fairly confident that the two sides will be able to come to terms on an agreement. Flacco is considered to be the top free agent in the league, but there's no way he is hitting the open market.
- Dannell Ellerbe is likely to be the team's top free agent target outside of Flacco. Ellerbe really made up for a lack of speed and all of the injuries that hit the linebacker position during the season. He was also rated among the league's blitzing linebackers, and in this day and age, you can never have enough defenders that can get after the quarterback.
- There has been little talk about Paul Kruger or Cary Williams, meaning the Ravens do not feel great about their chances to re-sign either. The Ravens would like to bring back Kruger and he would like to return, but some team is likely to throw a lot of cash at him and his pass-rushing abilities. Cornerbacks are always in demand, so Williams will likely be overpaid as well.
- The team would like to retain Ed Reed and he would like to come back, but he could find interest from other teams and still does not have an agent. You would think Reed would like to finish his career in Baltimore and possibly coach for the Ravens once his playing days are over, but you never know with him. The Ravens could look to draft a replacement for Reed, whether it be for 2013 or the future, or they could also look to free agency for a veteran safety like Charles Woodson.
- Anquan Boldin claims he will retire if the Ravens decide to cut him. It seems like many that know Boldin well believe he wants to continue to play football but do not think he is bluffing. It's hard to see the Ravens releasing him after his strong postseason performance, but he would be a big hit to the 2013 salary cap given his current contract.
- If there was a season to win the Super Bowl, this was it, and I don't mean that because Ray Lewis retired. The Ravens have the last pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, but this year's class is pretty weak at the top. In fact, there really isn't much of a different from the top players all the way down through the end of the first round, so the Ravens shouldn't by any worse off than the rest of the NFL teams.
- The Ravens announced that ticket prices will rise an average of 10 percent next year, marking the first time they have increased since 2009. The team will announce later this week that the stadium will undergo renovations/upgrades over the next two years.
