Ravens Camp: Special Teams

WHO’S IN CAMP:
Kickers- Shayne Graham, Billy Cundiff; Punter- Sam Koch; Longsnapper- Morgan Cox

WHO’S ON THE BUBBLE:

-Shayne Graham, Billy Cundiff

OPENING DAY ROSTER PREDICTION:
Kicker- Shayne Graham; Punter- Sam Koch; Longsnapper- Morgan Cox

Summary:

Long-time Ravens' longsnapper, Matt Katula, was released last week, giving way to undrafted rookie Morgan Cox.  The Ravens see a lot in Cox, as Katula was cut in his second-year of an original five-year deal.

Cox is the longsnapper, Sam Koch is the unquestioned punter; the real mystery is who will do the kicking for the Ravens this season.

Throughout camp, it's been tough to tell who has the real advantage.  At times, Shayne Graham has looked shaky; then again, Billy Cundiff has done little to outperform him to the point of making certain that he's the guy for 2010.

In the end, it will likely be Graham doing the kicking in Baltimore.  His veteran presence and his solid career give him an edge over a journeyman like Cundiff.  More importantly, there's a strong message that the Ravens wanted Graham to be the kicker this season.  Even though Cundiff kicked fairly well last season, converting 18 of 23 field goal attempts, the Ravens lost faith in him when he failed to come through in several clutch situations late in the year from 39-yards and in.
