MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.--Ray Rice returns for the second time as the Baltimore Ravens gain a much needed win, by beating the dolphins this past Sunday. Rice scored two touchdowns in the Ravens' victory, 26-23.
Joe Flacco did well in the passing game, completing 19-32 passing, however throwing an interception leading to a score late in the game, placing the Ravens in a fourth quarter thriller with the Miami Dolphins.
The first half of the game was showdown of kickers, with Justin Tucker and Caleb Sturgis hitting and connecting from 42-yards, giving Baltimore a 3-0 lead. Sturgis ties the game with a 37-yards, and tying the score at three.
Miami owned the first half of the game with Sturgis kicking a 25 yard field goal, matching Tucker's 50 yard field goal. The game was tied up until Ryan Tannehill found Charles clay in the front corner of the end zone with a nine yard touchdown, allowing the 60 yard drive to give Miami the 13-6 lead at Halftime.
The second half was a different game. Both teams scored touchdowns, with Ravens running back Ray Rice scoring from two yards out after the Dolphins went three and out with the first possession of the half. Subsequently, the Ravens came back in the later part of the third quarter, adding a field goal retake the lead 16-13.
The fourth quarter witnessed a 10 point comeback as Dolphins safety Reshad Jones intercepted the batted ball and returned it for a touchdown. With a kick out of bounds by Sturgis, the Ravens would go 34-yards in seven plays to end with a field goal, giving the Ravens a 26-23 lead.
The Ravens defense came through, getting six sacks on the day, and allowing 22 yards rushing, the fourth-lowest total in franchise history. The Baltimore Ravens escaped with a narrow victory, coming back to Baltimore to host the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday.
