Raty and Brandt get WCHA weekly honors (Video)

The Gophers women's hockey team just keeps racking up the awards this season. The WCHA announced their Players of the Week today and both Noora Raty and Hannah Brandt were winners. Hannah won her sixth Rookie of the Week award while Noora got her third Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Raty was tough as nails against the Wisconsin Badgers last weekend, giving up just one goal all series long and turning away 47 of 48 shots. She earned her 36th career shutout last Friday and then got her 100th career win on Sunday. She ties the record for wins in a career with former Mercyhurst goaltender Hillary Pattenden and is just three shutouts from tying Wisconsin's Jessie Vetter for shutouts.

Brandt has been playing more like a junior or senior this season. She was on her game again last weekend, getting both game-winning goals in a sweep of Wisconsin. She had two goals and two assists on the weekend and now has 62 points on the year, which is second only to Amanda Kessel in the nation.

North Dakota's Jocelyne Lamoureux got the Offensive Player of the Week award, edging out Amanda Kessel, who had won it the two weeks prior.
