With summer comes a feast of germs, bugs, and microscopic predators. More often than not these bothersome creepers land on your skin and cause havoc. It starts with an itch then all of a sudden you have a full blown rash. Rashes can be completely uncomfortable so you want to make all efforts to relieve and get rid of it. Below are some helpful tips and tricks that will help relieve the itch caused by a rash:

1. Oatmeal Bath- An oatmeal bath can be the itch relief you need just at the right time. Don’t go to the drugstore for Aveeno because the plain oatmeal you have in your pantry will do the trick. Pouring 1-2 cups in a bath the saponins in oatmeal act as a soothing and protective anti-inflammatory agent.

2. Aloe Vera- Aloe vera is mostly known for…everything. It is commonly used for its ability to heal burns. Subside the itch from a rash by breaking an aloe vera leaf open and spreading the gel over your skin.

3. Cold Compresses- A cold compress can help soothe itchy skin by simply slowing down the transmission of nerve signals from the affected area. Just do not leave the compress on to the point that your skin becomes numb.

Overall, a rash can cause large amounts of discomfort and pain. Taking the necessary steps to cure your rash such as going to a doctor is ideal. For more natural remedies if you may not be fond of strong corticosteroid creams would be to take an oatmeal bath, use a cold compress or smooth aloe vera gel on the affected area. These remedies are proven to do the trick as well as a variety of other natural options.
