Rascal Flatts debuted the video for their latest single “Rewind” earlier this week. On February 12, the band shared on their website a first look at the behind the scenes making of the video. With a combination of green screen technology and on-set actors, the finished product is a fun twist on a classic falling in love story.
With lyrics that start out “Wish I could reach up and reset that sun, reverse these wheels go back and re-pick you up... went by so fast oh so sweet, make me wanna remake a memory...wish I had me a time machine” it’s easy to see where the concept for the video came from.
A great date is something most people would want to do over again, or “rewind.” In this new Rascal Flatts video directed by Mason Dixon, a young man finds a way via “magic” cassette tape to set the clock back and replay his date again and again. Every time the date ends, the man rushes back to his truck to rewind the cassette so he can do it all again. The fun story is interspersed with clips of Rascal Flatts singing and playing their instruments. All the while, crowds of people move around them in reverse.
