Rascal Flatts on the magic of making a hit song

Country super group Rascal Flatts is on a roll again, this time with a new album called "Rewind." They performed the title song on last night's ACM special,"A All Star Salute To The Troops" on CBS-TV.

What are the magic ingredients that make a hit song? Rascal Flatts' members say that meaning, melody and "the goose bump factor" play big parts in the making of a hit song.

The three man group formed in Columbus, Ohio. Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have already established their marks with the magic of hit songs as evidenced by the singles from their eight previous albums. Slow dance smashes include "Bless The Broken Road," My Wish" and "Here Comes Goodbye." "Fast Cars and Freedom," a little more uptempo, was one of their biggest songs from 2005.

Rascal Flatts is now on the road with the 2014 Rewind Tour, watch for them in a city near you.
