In June of 2011, Rascal Flatts released the third single, Easy, from their album Nothing Like This. The song, a duet with pop singer Natasha Bedingfield, became a quick favorite among fans and has climbed to the top ten on the Billboard Country Chart as download sales exploded.
Easy tells the story of a man and woman who broke off their romantic relationship, but obviously still have strong feelings for one another. They each tell of their quest to continue on, not letting others know how deeply they are hurting inside. The video for Easy further explores the lyrics as the couple is faced with seeing each other at a high-profile party. Both Rascal Flatts and Natasha Bedingfield provide believable and emotional imagery to accompany their pleasing harmony.
Easy has obviously touched the hearts of many country music fans in a place where their own memories of lost love live. This week, sales for Easy exceeded 500,000, giving Rascal Flatts the opportunity to celebrate another Gold certification by the RIAA. Of the 28 singles Rascal Flatts has charted since their debut in 2000, 26 have reached the top 10, the other 2 reaching the top 20. The band continues to release relevant, catchy or inspirational music that keeps country music fans coming back.
